With a Native American heritage, Dennis is very involved in issues effecting Indian Country today.
Dennis has had legal experience with Dakota Plains Legal Services on several reservations in South Dakota, U.S. Department
of Homeland Security, and a small civil litigation law firm in Denver. In October of 2006, Dennis gave a presentation
about the American Indian Probate Reform Act at the 16th Annual Indian Land Consolidation Symposium in California. He
was the advisory attorney for the Indian Law Clinic at the University of Colorado College of Law in 2005/2006 where he
taught students about the Indian Land Consolidation Act as well as the American Indian Probate Reform Act. With the
constantly changing Federal Laws involving Indian Trust property, education and proper estate planning is essential to the
survival of Indian Country. Dennis is currently an adjunct professor at the Community College of Aurora and is a member
of the Colorado Lawyer's Committee where he is an active advocate for the homeless of Denver. He received a Community
Contribution Award from the Colorado Lawyer's Committee for the work he did with the Homeless ID Task Force. Dennis is also qualified to handle cases dealing with immigration, one of the hottest topics of today.
As his maternal ancestors were immigrants from Germany, he feels all legal immigrants deserve the opportunity to become citizens.
